This is the award winning studio and production company where students of all ages, levels and abilities can stretch their wings, hone their skills and become comfortable in the world of theater arts.

 

North County School of the Arts, based in Encinitas, CA serves the greater North County, San Diego area. Students range from the casual student wanting to improve their vocal, acting and/or dance skills, to professionals needing polish and shine to help them achieve their dreams!  We have students performing in professional theater all over San Diego, Los Angeles, London' s West End, and throughout the United States and Europe.

 

Our commitment to having on staff only working professionals / performers helps our instructors better relate to, teach and motivate our students.  We want our students to use their instructors as a resource for real-world performing situations.

 

STUDENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

We are thrilled with our 2020/2021 school year with our students. They have achieved such remarkable things!  And, considering the obstacles that were thrown their way this year, they should be even more proud! Many of our private students have managed to keep singing, performing and competing throughout the pandemic.

Here is an  list of our vocal students who placed or earned honorable mentions for the San Diego District National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competitions for Musical Theatre and Classical Singing in 2020/2021:

 

Evelyn Berry - 1st Place (high school upper musical (also selected as one of Broadway San Diego's high school musical theatre top 10 female nominees and advanced to the top 3 placement)

 

Garrett Lee - Honorable Mention (high school middle musical theatre) ((also selected as one of Broadway San Diego's high school musical theatre top 10 male nominees and advanced to the top 3 placement)

NCSA has had a wonderful year with many students performing in various community and school sponsored performances. We have students performing leading roles with: Ovation Theatre, Moonlight Youth Theatre, CYT, SDA, LCC, Sage Creek, Star Theater, Sante Fe Christian, Diegueno Middle School, and more!

 

Our students have been honored with many awards from National Youth Arts (NYA) Awards to Tonys. We would like to a say a huge congratulations to Josh Peck, a former student, for his Tony award for the 2108 Broadway revival of Carousel!

 

Congratulations are in order to our graduating seniors: Rachael Bell, Marita Bos, and Dashiell Gregory and Elena Mangiamele! Collectively, they have been accepted to Baldwin Wallace Musical Theatre Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, Vanderbilt, USC, Rider, Redlands, Chapman, San Francisco Conservatory, Miami University Ohio, University of Denver, Furman University, Ithaca University, University of North Texas State, and Texas Christian University
